The 2016 Annual International Rolle Bolle (row-lee bow-lee) Tournament was held August 11-14 at two different venues, one in Marshall, Minnesota and the other in Ghent, Minnesota, which is known as the Rolle Bolle Capital of the World. It is slightly beveled to one side so that the bolle will turn towards the stake when rolled. The bolle is made of hard wood or hard molded rubber or similar material, formed into a disc 6 to 8 inches in diameter and about 4 inches thick. The game of Rolle Bolle is played on a dirt court. Each alley is 12 feet wide (6 feet on either side of the stake) and the stakes are 30 feet apart. It is played on alleys made of finely crushed limestone which generally is tried to be rolled in a way to make them as fast as possible.
